#internetbestie – Short Story Competition

Hey, guys! I found out this morning that Figment is hosting a short story competition, with no entry fee! Interested? Great!

So… what’s it about?

In 2,017 words or fewer, create a short story where two people who hate each other in real life are unaware that they are best friends online with the tag #internetbestie. You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 12th to enter your story.

But… but what are prizes?

Five (5) winners will be chosen to not only have their stories featured on the Figment website and social media sites but will also be Featured as a Featured Fig and won the Featured Fig badge on their profile! Make sure you’re following us on FacebookTwitterInstagram and Tumblr for the latest updates and good luck!

Jaylee Morgan is a teenage author with her sights set on publishing. She’s written short stories since–uh… um–before she can remember. Her family isn’t quite sure what to do with her (mental hospital, maybe?), as she carries around a folder that she’ll randomly open and start scribbling in. She grew up (er, is still growing up) on a little hobby farm. She was basically born riding horses and hopefully will continue to ride horses for the rest of her life. She loves, loves, loves the cowboy lifestyle and might actually write about it someday. (Right now, she’s too scared that she won’t do it justice.) She reads. Like crazy.
